Greeting Local Health Partners,

As a result of the identification of chromium as an additional contaminant in the applesauce recall, NJDOH is providing the local health departments with updated guidance when investigating children with elevated blood lead levels. Included as an attachment are: 1) updated Standard Operating Procedure for EBLL Investigation Related to Applesauce Recall, and 2) a template letter for informing families about the importance of speaking to their healthcare provider about potential chromium exposure.

If you have any questions, please contact the Childhood Lead Program for assistance.
