The New Jersey Department of Health is collaborating with the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA) to provide a free webinar on October 19, 2022, from 7:00-8:00 pm EST. ‘Emerging Zoonotic Diseases: An Update on SARS-CoV-2 in Animals and Reportable Zoonotic Diseases in NJ’ will review SARS-CoV-2 from a one health perspective; various topics such as animals that have been infected in NJ, potential clinical signs, testing procedures, and methods to prevent spread of SARS-CoV-2 in settings such as wildlife rehabilitation centers or other animal facilities will be covered. Additionally, other reportable zoonotic diseases in NJ and points of contact for the various state agencies will be discussed.

Public Health Continuing Education Contact Hour (CE) available for health officers and registered environmental health specialists. Participants who register on NJLMN (dual registration required), attend the live webinar, and complete the webinar evaluation are eligible to receive 1.0 NJ Public Health CE. Veterinarians can also receive 1 veterinary CE credit through NJVMA for this webinar--additional information can be found here.
